Fred Treseler - Head Coach
Fred Treseler is one of the premier coaches and talent identification experts in the running industry. As a former Division I collegiate athlete at Providence College, a father of two Division I athletes, and a high school, college, and Olympic coach, Fred Treseler has experienced many levels of athletics. He employs this unique perspective as an athlete, parent and coach to lead the Emerging Elites Program.
In his 35 years of professional coaching experience, Fred Treseler has identified rising talents for New Balance, Reebok, FILA and John Hancock, as well as international athletes aspiring to compete in the Olympics and the Boston Marathon. Fred Treseler coached the track and field program at Dedham High School and led the newly formed Boston College Women’s Cross-Country team to national prominence during the first few years of its existence.
After coaching at the collegiate level, Fred Treseler focused on post-collegiate athletes. He coached two athletes to the Olympic finals in the 10,000m, including an American athlete who was ranked #1 in the world at that distance in 1985.
Over the past five years, Fred Treseler’s career has come full circle as he redirects his energy back to the middle and high school levels. He channels his athletic passion and expertise into identifying and developing rising young athletes through the Emerging Elites program.
Russ Brennen - Assistant Coach
Russ Brennen brings a wealth of both athletic and coaching experience to Emerging Elites. After graduating high school in Pennsylvania as one of the state’s best distance runners, he
competed on the varsity cross-country, indoor and outdoor track teams at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Russ Brennen joined Babson College as head coach in 2004 where he produced three all-conference athletes, including the first female in Babson school history, and nine Academic All-Americans. In addition his athletes have rewritten the school record books by breaking an alarming 57 records in the past three years. Prior to Babson he coached at the Cambridge Running Club and the Boston Running Club.
Peter Stone, P.T.
Peter Stone graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1976 and has practiced physical therapy in the Boston area for over 30 years. During this time, he has skillfully assessed and treated Olympians, professional, collegiate and high school athletes, assisting them to achieve their performance goals. Throughout his career,
Peter Stone has been involved with cutting edge research in the area of sports medicine and orthopedics. The Emerging Elites program is the beneficiary of Peter Stone’s extraordinary knowledge of human body mechanics and specific movements in sport. Peter personally evaluates all Emerging Elites with a physical assessment prior to the start of the High Performance Group of the Summer Program.
Lisa Plesko - Assistant Coach
A graduate of Penn State University, Lisa Plesko majored in nutritional science
and competed on the women's lightweight crew team for four years. Always having a strong interest in athletics, she focused her studies toward nutrition and
performance and worked in the athletics department counseling Division 1 athletes one-on-one with their nutrition goals. Outside of the classroom,
Lisa was actively involved in the community, volunteering as an assistant coach for the local middle school track teams and directing several
local charity races. A running enthusiast herself having completed two marathons, including one Boston, Lisa thoroughly enjoys coaching Emerging
Elites athletes and oversees administration and program planning.
Freddie Treseler - Assistant Coach
An active athlete his whole life, Freddie Treseler brings a passion for athletics to the Emerging Elites program. A runner, cross country skier and rower during high school, Freddie competed on the Boston College lightweight crew team during his university years. He has coached learn-to-row programs for high school and middle school athletes at Community Rowing in Boston and assistant coached the freshman crew team at BC. Bringing his keen eye for athletic technique to the Emerging Elites, Freddie is often found working with Emerging Elites during the drills and plyometric sessions on improving their positioning. Post collegiate, Freddie has completed both the Chicago and Boston Marathons and continues to run recreationally. He hopes to compete in his first triathlon in 2009.
Bethany Allard - Assistant Coach

A former athlete of and junior training coach at Mike Boyles Strength and Conditioning, Bethany brings her experience and training in the realm of athletic conditioning to the Emerging Elites program. A junior national team athlete, Bethany focused her athletic career on basketball throughout high school, and has since enjoyed broadening her training skills to other sports. Bethany has been with the Emerging Elites Program since January, and has thoroughly enjoyed working with young, talented athletes with a drive for success. She is currently a Middler at Northeastern University and an ACE certified group fitness instructor.
