Emerging Elites Summer Program 2008

The Emerging Elites Summer Program has established itself as the premier training program for committed, talented and competitive athletes. The Emerging Elites Summer Program is designed to develop athletes more thoroughly than a typical summer running camp. The 8-week Emerging Elites Summer Program surpasses traditional training camps because of its comprehensive, individualized approach and science-supported system of pre-season training. The Summer Program produces unparalleled results through a combination of diagnostic physical assessment, group training exercises, educational sessions, Core Development Program and individualized workouts. In response to the impressive cross-country results by the Emerging Elites athletes in the 2007 Summer Program, the 2008 Emerging Elites Summer Program is expanding to accommodate the overwhelming demand and interest from athletes, coaches and parents. The Emerging Elites coaches are committed to maintaining a small ratio of coaches to athletes, with the average of 1 coach to 10-12 athletes.

Developmental and High Performance Groups

The Emerging Elites Summer Program features two distinct training options. The Developmental Program is designed for middle school athletes (7th and 8th grades) who are preparing for the transition into high school athletics. The High Performance Group is designed for high school and college athletes who are serious about competing and responsible for their own training. If you are trying to decide on which program to apply to, read below or feel free to contact us.

How to Choose Your Proper Summer Training Program

First, it is important to understand both your training and performance (racing) goals when deciding on a summer training program. Almost all summer running camps offer a one- or two-week program focused on group training and education. The Emerging Elites Summer Program is truly a summer-long program with 8-weeks of individualized training, a diagnostic physical assessment and a personalized Core Development Program. The summer program can be tailored to complement and incorporate your high school or college training program. The Emerging Elites Summer Program is the only summer-long training program that can truly embed healthy and proper performance-enhancing behaviors.
Second, as an athlete you need to decide how your summer training fits with the rest of your summer plans. The Emerging Elites Summer Program allows you to train while living and sleeping in your own home, eating your own food and training without disrupting your summer employment.

The Emerging Elites Summer Program uses several venues for training purposes. Pine Manor College, located in Brookline, MA, and easily accessible by car and public transportation, is the primary training facility. Emerging Elites athletes have access to grass fields and soft running surfaces as well as the gym, locker rooms, showers and free parking.
The Emerging Elites Summer Program is designed to maximize the benefit from exercising at great training locations in the Boston area including the Brookline Reservoir, the Chestnut Hill Reservoir and the Boston Marathon's (in)famous Heartbreak Hill.
