Rebecca Abrahams, 2009 Summer Intern
SpacerUniversity of Connecticut, Communications
Despite my short time at TRACS, I feel as though I gained more than I had thought possible from my experience. The vast opportunities at TRACS exceeded any expectations I had prior to starting there. Opportunities would range from contacting vendors from different cities across the nation to working with talented athletes from the state. My favorite part was being able to work on so many different projects all in a day's work. I feel as though TRACS provided me with the proper amount of insight to get introduced to a profession that I am highly interested in pursuing. I was able to work with enthusiastic people who contributed to my experience that I hope to keep in touch with in the future.”

My internship at TRACS gave me the opportunity to combine my love of sports with my professional interests. In the three months I spent at TRACS, I learned more than I ever thought I would about sports marketing as well as about myself. Working for a small company gave me a chance to make a difference while working with a close tema of people. Interns are given a real role within the company unlike at some bigger places. I feel much more confident about what I can bring to a company in the future. I am very glad I took a chance on TRACS, and more importantly, that they took a chance on me. It was an unforgettable experience that provided me with great memories while preparing me for the 'real world'."

My summer at TRACS, Inc. was a great opportunity to learn more about the sports marketing industry. I was able to take hold of several aspects of 5K event organization as well as take initiative on new projects. My favorite part of the summer was contracting the Atlanta Braves' drumline for an event and then hearing about how successful it was. I feel that because of this internship, I have gained invaluable knowledge and experience that will benefit me for my entire career.”

TRACS has given me the opportunity to combine my interest in sports with a career. I thoroughly enjoyed working at TRACS because I was alongside a great group of dedicated team members who were focused on a common goal. In just a small workforce I worked with individuals from all around the world – an opportunity that few college students experience. Although I was told coming into this position that I would gain a lot of experience in various elements, I didn’t really understand what that meant until I was well into my co-op. I realize now that I have learned a lot about myself both professionally and personally over the last six months and have improved and developed skills that are relevant to my future.”

My internship at TRACS surpassed my expectations in all fields. I feel completely confident that I will be prepared for whatever my next job will entail. Working this six-month internship was, without a doubt, one of the best decisions I have ever made. Not only did I learn about the world of sports marketing and event planning, but I also learned a lot about myself. It was definitely an experience I’ll never forget.

My time here at TRACS has been short and yet full of a lifetime of experiences. I can’t even begin to summarize the knowledge I have gained, both in the office and in life. My co-workers have become great friends and I fully intend to stay in touch with them. I feel like I came to TRACS as an apprehensive college student with little work experience and am leaving, an adult, ready to go out into the real world.

Courtney Pereira, 2007 Spring/Summer Intern
SpacerNortheastern‘09, Journalism and Marketing
My internship at TRACS was one of the most valuable experiences of my professional life. Through TRACS I experienced how important communication is, and learned how substantial the details are, in every situation. I experienced the ins and outs of event management while working on the ACP 5K Fun Run/Walk, and the immense importance of editing while developing the second volume of the Inside TRACS Newsletter. TRACS was an amazing opportunity that I will never forget, and not at all what I had expected in a part-time internship.

Emma Oberlander, 2007 Spring Intern
SpacerNortheastern‘10, Communications
At TRACS, there is no such thing as an insignificant, mundane task. As an intern I learned that every minute detail, job, project or process is part of a “bigger picture.” Learning and applying this “big picture view” to my own mindset allowed me to enthusiastically engage in every assignment I was given, not only because that is what was expected of me, but because I was genuinely invested in the projects that I was a part of. Not only did I staple packets and answer phones, but I participated in the writing of a business proposal and managed the creation of a post-event report. Simply, even if a task seemed irrelevant and trivial, I was genuinely a part of exciting, diverse and significant projects, which is experience that I could not have gained at any other internship.

Working at the Boston Marathon this year was one of the best experiences of my life. Getting the chance to interact with world class athletes was one of the highlights of my six months at TRACS. I also got a chance to manage an elite running program for high school athletes which I found to be incredibly rewarding. My internship at TRACS is one that I will always remember fondly.

Lindsay Cowan, 2006/2007 Fall/Spring Intern
SpacerBoston College ‘07, English
“Working at TRACS exposed me to opportunities I never thought were imaginable as an intern. I gained a wealth of experience in everything from event management to marketing to public relations. I became the PR manager of the company during the Boston Marathon, and I ended up gaining valuable publicity for the company, as well as impressive clips for myself. TRACS is definitely not your average internship!”

Nicole Monnin, 2006/2007 Fall/Spring Intern
SpacerBoston College ‘07, Management and Leadership, Marketing
During my interview at TRACS last year, I was guaranteed that, although it was an unpaid internship, my time would be compensated by the knowledge I would gain. As my internship comes to an end, I can happily say Fred's promise was kept, and I have learned more about myself, marketing, and event management that I ever could have imagined and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Kristin Rooney, 2006/2007 Fall/Spring Intern
SpacerBoston College ‘07, Communications
“Working at TRACS throughout my senior year was one of the most challenging experiences I have encountered in my life, yet I have no regrets about my decision. During my internship, I gained practical knowledge which I will be able to apply in almost any field of work in my future. Any intern at TRACS is given a range of opportunities above and beyond what average internships offer. I'm so glad that I had the chance to work at TRACS and look forward to crossing paths with the business in its future events.”

Marisa La Spina, 2006 Summer/Fall Intern
SpacerBoston University ‘07, Nutritional Sciences
I majored in Nutritional Sciences so coming into the TRACS internship I had little background in business. I saw TRACS as a great opportunity to expand the business side of my resume; however TRACS gave me much more than a couple lines on it. TRACS introduced me to many different fields including finance and management [and gave] me a solid foundation for finding a job in the business world. [My experience] also helped me to improve on my written and oral communication skills through client contact on a regular basis, compiling end-of-year reports and everyday interaction with staff in a fast-paced environment. Everyday brought something new and I learned how to multi-task and re-prioritize activities as new ones came along. TRACS is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to be an actual part of a company, not [just] an intern who only runs to get his/her boss coffee each morning.

Kelly Treseler, 2006 Spring/Summer Intern & Part-Time Associate
SpacerBoston College ‘08, Communication & International Studies
“TRACS offered me a myriad of experiences that were both challenging and rewarding but that have helped me develop both personally and professionally. I had the opportunity to interact with people I never would have expected from world-class runners and broadcast professionals to an awesome team of undergraduates all with a great deal to offer. With each project I worked on, I felt as though my work was important and had an impact on the business. My tenure at TRACS has truly shaped my interest in the realms of sports and event management as well as given me the confidence to succeed.”

Eliza Skinner, 2006 Summer Intern
SpacerTrinity College ’07, Psychology
"Coming into my internship at TRACS, I had very little knowledge of the business and marketing world. As a Psychology major, the questions that I stressed over in a classroom were very different than those posed to me at TRACS. I wasn't asked about the development of a child or abnormalities of the brain, [but was] asked to build a budget and write memos. Needless to say, my first month at TRACS was challenging, but the environment made the transition much easier. I was truly part of a team. There was no set leader, everyone took on different positions and projects [and] we worked for one another, with one another. After three months at TRACS I will walk away having learned a lot about numbers, event planning and marketing, but more than anything I have learned how a business can run and run well. My experience at TRACS has taught me that I can walk into any situation, and with the right people and [dynamics], I can do anything!"

Mike O’Brien, 2006 Spring Intern
SpacerSalem State College ‘06, Sport Management
"I began my internship at TRACS, Inc. with very little experience. The intimate office setting provided a wonderful learning environment. I was able to witness and take part in almost every level and aspect of the TRACS, Inc. business. At TRACS, Inc. my opinions, ideas and suggestions really mattered to the success of the business, which is not always the case for interns at other establishments. Working along with a number of other student interns was also a wonderful experience. There was no time, or space, for egos. Everyone was here to learn and gain experience, which is exactly what we did. I could not have asked for more from an internship experience. I got a taste of everything, both good and bad, which has been a great tune-up for the future. In just a few short months, at TRACS Inc., I have begun to attain the skills and confidence to ensure my success in this highly competitive world."

Allie Weinberger, 2005 Summer Intern
SpacerBoston University College of Communication ’07, Print Journalism
"My experience at TRACS [was] one of tremendous exposure to the business side of sports and sporting events. As a mere college student, TRACS throws you into a high-intensity, high-demand work environment - it's either sink or swim."

Stacy Chamberlain, 2005 Spring/Summer Intern
SpacerBoston University College of Communication ’07, Magazine Journalism, Design, Editing
I [learned] what it takes to run a small business in a very efficient and successful way, while maintaining integrity and character.

Andy Keane Jr., 2004 Six-Month Co-op
SpacerNortheastern University ’06
TRACS was by far the most educational experience I have been a part of up to this point in my life. Being able to combine the theory of studying business at Northeastern University and apply this theory to actual real life business situations was an experience unparalleled to any other. I have had to do other co-ops and internships and TRACS was head and shoulders above the others. I learned more at TRACS in my six-month period of employment than I feel that I have by going through three years of college. It is not only learning the business, but also learning the intricacies of how a well- run small business operates that truly was amazing to me. I would recommend TRACS to any student who has a passion to learn and to be successful. My time at TRACS is invaluable to me and was the best learning experience of my life. I will always offer to come back to TRACS and help out with future events, as there is always something more to learn from their great team."

Jamie Redmond, 2004 Spring Intern
SpacerQuinnipiac University ’04, Marketing
"TRACS was one of the best learning experiences that I ever had. I was leery at first because I was not particularly sure what to expect. I was thrown into projects on my first day and I never looked back. The John Hancock Elite Athlete Village experience gave me so much responsibility, housing the athletes, making sure that they had everything they needed and were comfortable. Working with Ali's Challenge and Ali's Run were the most rewarding experiences in terms of getting a community involved in an educational program. I loved seeing the kids getting excited to get out and be active and being so enthusiastic about it! I feel that TRACS prepared me for the "real" world better then any other internship that I could have taken. I relish the experiences and the people that I met there. I would go back and do it all over in a heartbeat."

Chris Jackson, 2004 Summer/Fall Intern
SpacerBoston College ’04, Communications
From my first days at TRACS, I was amazed at the level of influence I had on both the daily operations and the decision-making process in the business. Throughout the course of my internship, I was treated as a valuable member of a highly effective team and was provided with ample opportunities to test my abilities and develop my skills in marketing, management, and writing. The thing that made my TRACS experience unique, however, was the close contact I had with our clients. Unlike in most situations, where interns are shielded from the front lines of client relations, I was trusted to interact directly with various members of the sports marketing community. Thanks to the rare combination of opportunities that I was afforded at TRACS, I truly believe that I have a leg up on anyone wishing to work in the sports marketing or event planning industries in the future."

Greg Lutz, 2003 Six-Month Co-op
Spacer Northeastern University ’04, Marketing and Management
Interning at TRACS Inc. is like nothing you can plan for. Because of the small team and the unique atmosphere you are given as much responsibility as you can handle. In my first month at TRACS I was responsible for a volunteer plan for over 70 volunteers and part of opening ceremonies of a major running event in Long Island. This internship takes you everywhere from inside the CBS studios while they are broadcasting the Boston Marathon to the floor of the Millrose Games escorting Marion Jones and Gail Devers around. And I was never once sent on a coffee run."
