Since 1989, we have created and managed a miniature Olympic village during the Boston Marathon for the John Hancock-sponsored elite athletes. In addition to recruiting, training and managing 75 volunteers who work with the athletes daily, we are responsible for overseeing all athlete services, including transportation, meals, credentials, health care, entertainment, press requests and marathon course tours.

Adopt-A-Marathoner Program
An extension of the Running and Fitness Clinic Program, the Adopt-A-Marathoner Program was first conducted in 1993 at Elmwood Elementary School in Hopkinton, MA, where the legendary Boston Marathon begins. Ali’s Challenge [click to learn more]
-
This strategic educational program for middle school students in Rhode Island combined an in-school fitness program with health and safety information relevant to adolescents. The 2005 program challenged students to collectively run or walk the 6,000 miles between Rhode Island and Athens, Greece. During the eight-week program, students logged their mileage while learning about the principles of nutrition, exercise and a healthy lifestyle. From 2003 to 2005, a total of 6,588 student participants logged 381,892 miles.
