Fred founded TRACS, Inc. in 1983 to combine his passions for athletics and sports marketing. After decades of professional coaching and teaching experience, Fred employed both business sense and industry contacts to found the Chestnut Hill-based sports marketing and event management firm. Even with a staff of 6-10 part and full-time employees, Fred personally works with every client and keeps his hands in every project.
Experience
Fred spent nine years as a high school English teacher at Dedham High School in Dedham, MA. Fred left teaching high school for a career teaching his passion – running. Since then, Fred has coached athletes at every competitive level, from student-athletes to Olympians.
In the past, Fred has been employed in many different capacities by a broad range of companies, many which enjoy a continued relationship with TRACS today.

In 1992, Marita joined forces with her husband and became the treasurer of TRACS, Inc. With the help of her financial and bookkeeping skills, the company continues to prosper in the sports marketing and event management world.
Experience
Before joining us, Marita worked as a health care administrator for the Hospital Association of Rhode Island. As a project assistant there, she was responsible for compiling data used in pricing negotiations between BlueCross BlueShield and the Hospital Association of Rhode Island. She also participated in the negotiation of group buying of medical products for Rhode Island hospitals.
- Kelly Treseler

In Spring 2006, Kelly began her tenure at TRACS as a sophomore. She worked closely with the Boston Marathon Athletes Village and the Employee Training Program. Much of her energy since then has been focused on maintaining and growing the Emerging Elites Program while also contributing to the website and technology operations at TRACS.
Kelly was hired as a part time associate in Fall 2006 and has returned full-time for Summer 2007 following her semester abroad in Barcelona. She will graduate from Boston College in May 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and a minor in International Studies.
- Nadja Gersten

Born and raised in Germany, Nadja interned at TRACS during her year at the EF International Language School in Brighton, MA in Spring 2002. While an intern at TRACS, she experienced working at the Boston Marathon John Hancock Elite Athlete Village for the first time. She also learned to use software program FileMaker Pro on her own and created a database that was used companywide. Upon completion of the EF language program, Nadja returned to Germany to begin her studies at the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Goerlitz, obtaining a degree in Business Economics with a concentration in marketing and market research. Despite the distance, she has returned to Boston each Spring since 2002 to volunteer at the Boston Marathon John Hancock Elite Athlete Village at her own expense. Following her recent March 2007 graduation, Nadja secured a temporary visa in April 2007 and will be working full-time at TRACS until the end of 2008.
- Lisa Plesko

A graduate of Penn State University, Lisa majored in nutritional science and competed on the Women’s Varsity Lightweight Crew Team. During her time as an undergraduate, she counseled Division 1 athletes one-on-one with their nutrition goals. She also developed race directing experience while organizing several community charity running events. Lisa discovered TRACS as a 2005 Boston Marathon race day host and later joined the TRACS staff in the fall of 2007. A running enthusiast herself having completed two marathons, including one Boston, Lisa thoroughly enjoys working with the Emerging Elites program.
- John Solman

A graduate of Belmont Hill School and the University of Vermont’s College of Nursing and Health Sciences, John is a licensed registered nurse. He first became involved with TRACS over 10 years ago, helping with the John Hancock Elite Athlete Village and the CBS-TV4 Spotters’ Network at the historic Boston Marathon. John’s involvement has grown from special events to providing technology solutions for TRACS, including website development and management, as well as video and photo production. John travels with the TRACS event management team to events throughout the US, providing onsite event management and technology assistance.

Bob has worked with TRACS since 1991 on both large and small events in the US and abroad, including the Boston Marathon. At the Boston Marathon, Bob has done everything from being a CBS-TV4 race day spotter to managing all host staffing for the John Hancock Elite Athlete Village. As a TRACS special events consultant, Bob continues to provide veteran leadership to our event staff and extraordinary service for our clients.
- Frederick Treseler IV

Frederick works closely with TRACS, supporting our team at special events across the US, including the Boston Marathon for the last 10 years. He has also worked at our past equestrian and swimming events. Frederick's professional background includes several years of account management at the Boston Beer Company and McKinney Rogers.
- Russ Brennen

Russ is a coach for the Emerging Elites program. Russ’ impressive ten years of professional coaching experience includes the Boston Running Club, the Cambridge Running Club, and assistant coach at Salve Regina. He has been the head coach of the men’s and women’s cross-country team at Babson College since 2004. Aside from working with the Emerging Elites program, Russ has been a participant in the Race SpotWatch studio for the Boston Marathon for several years.
- Bryan Dunn

Bryan was a full-time employee of TRACS, from September 1999 to September 2001. While he was working at TRACS he was in charge of the FILA Boston training camp, which housed and trained Kenyan athletes in Boston. He also was involved in the FILA Discovery USA project. It was these two projects that lead to Bryan's move to Kenya from January through most of February in 2000 to train for the US cross-country nationals. Bryan used to be the distance coach at Xaverian Brothers High School and coached the American Liver Foundation's marathon team for the 2006 and 2007 Boston Marathon, which raised over 1.2 million dollars for the foundation last year. Bryan also was a coach for the Emerging Elites program, along with Fred Treseler and Russ Brennen. At the end of last year, Bryan moved to Chicago where he is currently working with Second City as the music director for their touring company.

Tyler interned and worked part-time at TRACS during his Senior year at Boston University. During his time with us, Tyler helped to significantly refine our Run/Walk Convention Race Model. Currently working at a prestigious investment management firm in Philadelphia, Tyler continues to support our team at special events across the US.
